Dalam sambutannya pada resepsi diplomatik yang digelar dalam rangka memperingati HUT Kemerdekaan Republik Indonesia ke-79, Duta Besar RI untuk Filipina Agus Widjojo menjelaskan pentingnya Indonesia dan Filipina sebagai dua negara besar lembaga demokrasi kawasan, untuk memajukan dan memperkuat kerja sama. . . .
“Apalagi dalam situasi dunia saat ini yang semakin rumit. Kedua negara harus mampu mengubah tantangan menjadi peluang,” kata Widjojo.
Selain itu, kata Widjojo, kedua negara mempunyai peran penting di ASEAN sehingga dapat memperkuat perkembangan komunitas ASEAN.
Widjojo juga menyampaikan terima kasih kepada pemerintah Filipina atas kerja sama, dukungan dan bantuannya kepada KBRI Manila.
Sementara itu, Wakil Menteri Luar Negeri dan Hubungan Ekonomi Internasional Charles C. Jose mengungkapkan kebahagiaannya atas kerja sama yang telah terjalin selama lebih dari 75 tahun dengan Indonesia.
“Meningkatnya hubungan antar negara kita, bahkan di tingkat presiden, merupakan tanda yang menunjukkan niat kedua negara untuk terus memperkuat kerja sama dan bergerak maju bersama. Sebenarnya Indonesia adalah negara pertama yang dikunjungi Presiden Marcos setelah ia menjadi presiden, kata Jose.
Jose berharap kerja sama Indonesia dan Filipina dapat terus meningkat di bawah kepemimpinan Presiden Prabowo Subianto.
Selain peluncuran brand, pada resepsi ini juga diberikan penghargaan “Friends of Indonesia” untuk pertama kalinya kepada mitra Indonesia yang telah membantu KBRI Manila dalam menjalankan kiprahnya serta mendukung kerja sama antara Indonesia dan Filipina.
Resepsi yang dihadiri 350 orang tamu ini mengusung tema “Pulau Baru, Indonesia Maju” yang menunjukkan semangat baru pembangunan dan keadilan di Indonesia yang merujuk pada pemindahan ibu kota negara Indonesia dari Jakarta ke ibu kota negara. pulau (IKN). ).
